What is and is not
What is the real definition of something? Everything it is not. So the real definition of the Mighty I AM Presence is everything it is not. Hence the method used is in various schools of thought/doctrine was not this, not this, not this. When you eventually got to the end of ‘not this’ you reached what was left – ‘this’. It could take a long time but the use of the analogy shows a possible shortcut. Take this as the sea. Everything which is not the sea can be discarded and all you are left with is the sea.
You know that God is a Spirit. Matter is the flip side of Spirit, therefore both matter and Spirit are Spirit, although matter is somewhat more dense than Spirit. Think back to the Kabbalah – when Ein Sof wanted to create He/She needed to use His Nothingness to do so for He had naught else. So he separated some of His nothingness and put it in a chiffon carapace. It was a little less than He was, though not as dense as our current version of matter.
Still, not the fullness of nothingness from which Keter came.
From the Stanzas of Dzyan. Madame Blavatsky explained them in the Secret Doctrine (theosophical Book). 1. The eternal parent, wrapped in her ever-invisible robes, had slumbered once again for seven eternities. 2. Time was not, for it lay asleep in the infinite bosom of duration. 3. Universal mind was not, for there were no celestial beings to contain it.
To contain in this case means to manifest. To me, this shows the purpose of God – to create and waste nothing, the very frugality of God and written so effulgently.
4. The seven ways to bliss were not. The great causes of misery were not, for there was no one to produce and get ensnared by them. In the stanzas, the great causes of misery are enumerated : 12 in number – ignorance, formative activities, consciousness, name and form, the six regions of the senses, contact, sensation, thirst, attachment, existence, birth, old age and death.
The caring and love of Brahman/Ein Sof for the creation is so beautifully wrapped up in those snippets of verses. Oh Ein Sof/Brahman you are so magnificent! Words fail – for all that is outside of creation is so much more than we in manifestation can understand in totality. Even the I AM Presence which is in manifestation is, though understandable as you become it, so much more than we have thought in these bodies of flesh.
