SPR to charter as a Study Group

Dear Hearts,

The SPR committee has asked your representative to get in touch with you about an initiative the SPR is working on to charter the SPR, similar to how a study group would become a chartered study group.  As you may know we have spent many years thinking about how to best structure the Summit Lighthouse in our region to achieve all we hope and dream of for the Messengers and Masters.

We working on a proposal to charter the SPR and in the process form The Summit Lighthouse Australia.  This would replace the SPR as we know it.  Our vision for the Summit Lighthouse Australia is to have a national geographical reach but be mainly focused on national activities such as coordinating SU, the national 1300 number, the website, contact lists and other national projects as they arise.  We do not envisage this will change the relationship between the groups and the SPR as it currently stands.

We have discussed this with the National Formation Committee and they support this development. While we were at SU in Perth in January we put this motion to the community and received unanimous support.

“That the SPR formally apply to become chartered under the name ‘The Summit Lighthouse Australia.”

We are excited that being chartered will provide us with the following benefits:

  • Increased sponsorship of the Masters

  • Use of logos and images

  • Use of name Summit Lighthouse Australia

  • Opportunity to take a step up the ladder in recognition of the SPR’s 20 year anniversary in 2015

  • To heed the call from El Morya to get organised!

By way of background when the SPR was formed at the Heart in 1995 we worked closely with KOF in other countries in the South Pacific.  But over the years for a variety of reasons we have narrowed our scope to Australia.
