Decide on the venue for the Divine Mother Retreat
In Melbourne there were 2 for Melbourne and 1 for Sydney. Votes via email were Sinh for Geelong, Sharon attending Wedding weekend September 22, Margaret Weir Wisemans, Julie Norris Wisemans and Francine Wisemans. David and Tanya and Glenda are for Geelong. Geoffrey was for Wisemans. Donna had 2 for Melbourne and 1 for Sydney. Sydney voted majority for Wisemans. Marie would go to Sydney. That was 4 for NSW 3 for Victoria. The dates of Wisemans was weekend of September 14, 2013 and the Geelong dates are for the weekend of September 21, 2013 being the third weekend in September.
The proposed dates for the Retreat of the Divine Mother are
September 13, 14 and 15, 2013 and September 20, 21 and 22, 2013.
The Retreat Wisemans appealed to SPR members. And some members were sure this was the venue for the Divine Mother Retreat.
The Geelong venue has a really lovely feeling, botanical gardens plus 20 minutes from the local Airport. Geelong is 79 km from the Melbourne GPO. Both Melbourne and Sydney were able to offer camp style accommodation away from the conference venues. There were concerns about how many people would commit to attend the Divine Mother Retreat. We would need to stump to promote the Retreat of the Divine Mother.
There were concerns as to how we decided to vote on the venue: individuals one person one vote or as Study Groups and one representative for Melbourne and one representative for Sydney, and Canberra plus all other votes belonging to themselves. However, South Pacific Region would have the last say. South Pacific Region have yet to vote on this process for change.
The estimate of costs for having our Spiritual Director were approximately $5,000. In order to cover costs South Pacific Region would need to charge attendees to the Divine Mother Retreat more than $100. People in the host city could possibly pay more, say $20. Costs at Geelong were $577. Sydney’s venue at Wismans was $50 cheaper. A lot of people travelled to Summit University. It was mentioned that if individuals want to be there they will.
South Pacific Region Committee members put off the decision and meditated on “Crowning Rose” music. Unanimously the decision was for Melbourne as the venue for the Divine Mother Retreat after mediating. However, two members of the nine voted for Wisemans. It was suggested that the Chairman advise Reverend Neroli and Reverend Peter Duffy of the South Pacific Region Committee’s decision and seek approval from our Spiritual Director David Drye

South Pacific Region Committee Elections
Thank you to Mary for facilitating the election process. It was decided to enlist Brian Moxham and ask Andrew if he could once again set up Survey Monkey to ask for each person’s vote. A letter would be sent out the field and a time line was suggested so that the process be completed by March 10, 2013. South Pacific Region Committee members were asked to talk with other Keepers of the Flame who might nominate for the South Pacific Region Committee Board.
The next meeting would be the last and the first meeting as a handover between the departing SPR members and the new SPR Board members.
