Private Members Bill on Victorian Abortion Law

With the expected Private Member’s Bill on abortion to be moved by the Victorian Independent Geoff Shaw in the near future, it is vital that the Victorian pro life movement generates as much heat as possible, making a case to amend Victoria’s 2008 abortion legislation, the most extreme in the world.
Anticipating a move such as Geoff Shaw’s, Pro Life Victoria over some months now, has worked on updating our YouTube , A Story About Life: Victoria’s Darkest Day, initially produced for the 2009 state elections, that we might be “ready to roll” when the opportunity arose. Our effort is intended as a contribution to the wider pro life movement, engaged as it is in other pro life promotions and activism. We want to provide help in assisting the pro-life movement to generate supportive public action, messages and visits to Members of the Victorian Parliament.
Most Victorians remain ignorant about the “provisions” of the 2008 legislation and generally we face disbelief when people are informed. This video addresses this with very credible interviewees. Produced and updated with the services of an excellent producer, Don Parham, it features abortion survivor, Melissa Ohden and the former Member of the Legislative Council Peter Kavanagh, who lends credibility to it by having been there when the legislation was debated. It is a short documentary video that will inform people of what the Victorian Parliament voted for in 2008. Most importantly it concludes with an appeal to “Right the Wrong”.. giving explicit instructions on how to contact Victoria’s legislators asking them to support any attempts in Parliament to amend the 2008 legislation.
There are 3 million voters in Victoria we need to reach. YouTubes can get to more people than mail outs. But the challenge is to get those hits! And to get them NOW in order to generate the necessary heat. We cannot afford to let the YouTube get cold! That is why we need the help of the wider pro life movement. We need the video to receive 1,000,000 hits over the next few weeks and that the resulting letters, emails, phone calls and visits reaching our politicians will speed their determination to unravel the evil laws.
We need your help please and the help of every pro-life person in Victoria, to watch, pass on and promote this video. Facebooks and Twitter are critical to the circulation of this YouTube. We are asking that everyone place it and talk about it on their Facebooks … If we are all prepared to do that, we believe that we will achieve the saturation necessary for this YouTube to have a major effect.
We are not in this for ourselves, but for every child who has been carelessly and ruthlessly killed in the womb, for the protection and freedom of every Australian baby who is currently in the womb, or yet to be conceived. We want to see the generations of the future born to walk this earth.
We hope you are moved to help with publicity and will be grateful for any ideas in this regard.
