News from Cara in Brisbane

Things are progressing with the Centre here in Brisbane –  slower than I thought but there’s just Kath and I at the moment in terms of the actual physical stuff and Kath is working full time and I am fitting it in around permanent night duty so it’s a big job as you can imagine! I know we all have so much on our plates!

Basically we had our first Board meeting on the 15/2 and we agreed that the most important thing at the moment is getting our lovely Centre up to scratch, especially the Sanctuary and the large open “dining” area where we have our bookshelves, sofas and where we will be welcoming visitors and seekers etc to come and visit and browse the books and watch a video/DVD etc.

As you know we will be holding the Wednesday and Sunday services initially – open to all. And we have confirmed the ICO event of May 1st and 2nd.

We have many boxes of books, videos and sundry items which have to be gone through and I still have many boxes at my house (residence) and my parent’s house as well! We have set up a bank a/c, ABN pending confirmation, PO Box (needs “Minutes” to rent one) and have been busy browsing furniture stores, material stores and such like. We now have 12 lovely chairs for our sanctuary, altar slowly but surely taking shape. Dear Rita has hand sown our lovely altar cloths on a recent visit and dear Joy has been lovingly helpful in many ways as well. We feel all of your loving support too!
