SPR opening Prayer by Robin

Treasurers report: Treasurers report was emailed and updated online and accepted after a change. SPR made a profit this year and had more success in 2011 than in 2010.  Thanks was given for Andrew’s work as Election Officer, Treasurer and IT Consultant.  Andrew has already liaised with Mario about the web site and Treasurer’s report.   Andrew to attend SPR meetings as necessary.

SPR Elections

There are 7 Trustees who received more than 50% of the votes and two voting positions one for Melbourne and one for Sydney.  Trustees are Glenda, Jenny, and Geoffrey, Donna and Mary who vote.  Mario is the Sydney representative and Michaela is the Melbourne representative.  Robin and Joy are non voting members from Sydney.

Due to the matters mentioned above the following proposal was put.

Proposal:   That we vote to accept the committee as it is or not and move on.

Proviso:  That another person from another area be able to come on SPR, that is if someone outside the Sydney chartered study group wants to join the committee. Then the 2nd non-voting member with the lowest votes, would give up their seat and surrender their position to that person if and when that happens.   Mary, Jenny, Michaela Mario, Donna and Geoffrey voted in favour of the proposal and the proviso.

Election of office bearers

Election results are Mary Chairperson, Mario Treasurer and Robin Secretary.

Trustees are: Joy, Donna, Geoffrey, Michaela, Jenny and Glenda.

Other details about elections

We need to learn from our mistakes and have clear communication and improve practices and procedures and look at continuous improvement with voting and communicating with people via email especially using yahoo or hotmail addresses.  More people did vote in 2011 than in 2010 and the issues were finding emails in spam; people who did not vote; and people did know what to do so they could vote.  SPR is to advertise the voting  time lines to the community.

Some people did not recognise their email.  They did not get the email.   We can change email address format to stop voting emails from getting caught in spam and clearly state what the email is about and that it is from SPR “South Pacific Region” written in full. There was an option to email, phone or post  a vote.  How are we going to address the fact that people did not get the opportunity to vote, due to the above points.

How many votes  by: post, online,  other ( Report from Election Officer – Andrew)

The final tally in the end was out of a total of 72 possible respondents. 3 addresses bounced

initially and I was able to rectify one of those, Gabriel’s.

The phone votes (of which there were 4) gave 3 more to Robin, 3 more to Jenny, 2 more to Glenda and Donna and 1 more to everyone else.

Final Tally in order:   Donna:    23; Mary:     22; Jenny:    22; Robin:    21;Geoff:    20; Joy:      19; Glenda:   17  out of a total of 31 not including the person who abstained.

SU2012 Topics

Michaela will ask Melbourne Study Group what topics they prefer

Sydney has chosen Habit(On The Mother).

The topics to choose from are listed below:

— “The Path of the Bodhisattva” from summer 2009  (5-day program)  [Bodhisattva path, Vow, 33

manifestations of Kuan Yin, Life of Merlin  asBodhisattva on the Cosmic Clock

—  “Darshan with the Messenger: The Torch is Passed” from summer 2010  (also a 5-day program) [Darshan sessions 6-10;  detailed study of  Mother’s Stump message, and some outreach practice]

—  Or, as Peter suggested to me today, you might like to take some  older edited/published teachings such as on Habit (On the Mother) and  study these.

All of these topics would be fine with SU.  One note regarding the Path of the Bodhisattva:  SU is working on  re-packaging this seminar for the field,  in the form of two 3-day  events.

Part one is called “The Path of the Bodhisattva: Developing  the Compassionate Heart.” We’ve added quite a few teachings on Kuan Yin to this part.

Part 2 will focus more on Lord Maitreya, the bodhisattva  vow and the fiery heart.  If this more

expanded version appeals to the  SPR, you’d have to wait  until 2013 with that seminar.

Let us know at your convenience which way you’d like to go.

SPR reps are to Contact everyone and let them know their topics

Criteria and pray for the right location

We need each state to see if they could propose a venue.  Once we do that we need to send

Proposals to the wider community and ask for feedback from the community.

Youth -There was no update for the youth.

SSG Workshop

There will be a workshop in Sydney September Friday 16th, Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th 2011

Topic will be Australia and our role in the Aquarian age what it means to be the trump card for

Saint Germain and how that translate in our daily choices.  The first day will be on Kwan Yin the mercy flame, 33 manifestations and the rosary and compassion.  One of the workshops will be on how to lead decrees effectively.

There will be a Communicant class.  There will be a lesson on how to give the Communicant class.

It will be really terrific weekend.  ICO coincides with the weekend that Neroli and Peter are in Sydney.

1300 Number

Payments for the whole country are $420.  Sydney and Melbourne Study group pay $90 each year.

Canberra, Wagga, Perth, Adelaide, TAS, QLD, being smaller groups pay $30 each year.  Inform Marie that the bill for the 1300 number is to be sent to Mario.

Communications

Andrew has already liaised with Mario about the web site and Treasurer report.   Andrew to attend as necessary.  Communication is what SPR does and we need a reality check as to how SPR presents itself to new people who are unfamiliar with SPR.  Andrew will talk to Christine Cook about Face book and Twitter .  Technically the SPR web site and its resources  runs  in essence on behalf of the two Chartered study groups as a means to co ordinate the Groups.

Other Business

Next SPR Meeting Sunday 19th June 2011 8 pm Sydney time.
