How to Sell More God I
I think one of the biggest hurdles we all face on the path is having the confidence to speak openly about the teachings with others when needed.
Not just out of fear of being persecuted for speaking outside the square, but being able to remember everything that has been explained to us. There is just so much to talk about, so how do we go about spreading the word to others.
One of the most enlightening things I have found in speaking the truth is listening.. As simple as it sounds, it doesn’t matter what you say or quote from the lost years of Jesus if in their heart they are searching for oneness with Buddha. There is an old saying that God gave us two ears and one mouth. It’s true, so many people love to talk in this world and not enough love to listen.
I believe, everyone has a story to share, and as soon as you start searching for these stories, life changes. You start finding out what they are looking for, where they are at, what they want to hear, and as you dig deeper they tell you everything they want to hear before you even open your mouth.
In the profession of sales this is called discovery or qualifying, where you are looking for what they are after and what their requirements and story is, before you begin your presentation. Through this you also find out what their hot buttons are and what stands out or is important to them.
The greatest salesmen are the ones that follow a process. This process I believe can help us with all of our outreach and help us with consoling and shepherding souls back to the altar. I don’t have any stats to back up my statement as yet, but I do believe that 9 times out of 10 the soul will have to connect with you and feel comfortable with you as a person before they will drop their guard and open themselves to be able to re-connect with God.
So going back to the discovery or qualifying, how do we do it you ask? It is simple.. Get them talking with open questions. Open questions are questions that can’t be answered with a simple yes or no, so you open them up to explain something. It is usually the second or third consecutive open question that will get a complete stranger telling you their whole life story.
The more you practice this the more you’ll find that your questions will be leading them all to God. To give you an example:Other than work and family, what else do you do?Do you like to read? Have you read anything good recently?Have you ever felt there is more to life than this?Would you say that you’re religious? Or more spiritual? So what do you think is the meaning of life?
The more you experiment with this you will find the questions that work for you, and because you’re listening with grace, you will be empty enough to allow your heart to guide you and tell you what to ask and say. Many of you may already know this, but how many of us consistently apply it? It is God, the Angels and your Holy Christ Self that will guide you, but through listening to people, all of a sudden you become more likeable. Dale Carnegie nails it in his book ‘How to Win Friends and Influence People’ “That guy was the best person to talk to… I didn’t talk to them at all, I just let them talk about them self for two hours!”
You also find out what’s important to them. For example: Okay, she’s a Catholic, that believes in angels and reincarnation, and adores Mother Mary. Rather than being generic with your approach you can speak with God as mother and Mother Mary being the representative of the divine mother to help lead us to find the divine mother, just in the same way that Jesus is the representative of the Son who serves to help us connect with and establish a connection to our own Holy Christ Self… And that’s the middle figure here (pulls out card). I am not saying to say it like that exactly, but you can see you have hit them on a solar level because it is now personalised to mean something to them in what they are looking for.
Lanello has taught us all that we have to consider ourselves sales people and that our product that we are selling is God. I mean, if we focused on our selling skills a little more imagine what we could all do for Australia?
Let us refine ourselves a little to become better instruments for God for I believe it would be the greatest reward to see a soul you have contacted and lead to the true Guru achieve their ascension.
This is the first blog that I am writing on this topic in selling God.
I thank you for your time and hope that there is something of value in these words to help you with your service to God.
Yours Truly
