Guidelines for an Ascended Master Altar
Dear Hearts,
Greetings from the Sydney Teaching Centre! I recently asked our regional ministers, Revs. Peter and Neroli Duffy about the correct placement of the chalice and the monstrance on the altar and they researched it and offered this teaching.
PLACEMENT OF MONSTRANCE AND CHALICE ON THE ALTAR
“The monstrance is placed to the side on the altar. In King Arthur’s Court it has always been to the right of the altar. But it can be either side.
We have seen occasionally the monstrance placed centrally in photographs of altars in our organization in Catholic Countries. But this is not actually how we do it in our church.
The chalice is what is placed in the center of the altar. It is central because the flame is anchored in the chalice, not the monstrance. The chalice should not be obstructed if possible. It is usually placed directly below the lower figure in the chart. It can be raised on a box that is covered with a cloth.
It is better not to place the chalice on the four books of the law. The four books are their own focus and do not just hold up the chalice. The reason that they are there, if a group is fortunate enough to have a copy of them, is that Mother said that those four books are the representative books of the law”.
Having this teaching now as guideline we arranged our altar and took photos to share with you. May you find them helpful.
