Can I Follow the Teachings of the Ascended Masters if I am Gay?

When asked this question “Can I follow the teachings of the ascended masters if I am gay,” Rev. Marilyn Barrick,minister and psychologist, responded: Yes. Everyone who earnestly seeks God can follow the masters’ teachings. We are all children of light, beloved of God’s heart, spiritually destined to reclaim the fullness ofour divine nature and return home to Father Mother God.In the beginning,God created us androgynous.

Yet each of us is in a masculine or feminine body for karmic reasons and for lessons we need to learn as a man or woman in this life. The body we wear indicates which energy needs to take the lead in this lifetime so that we may balance our karma, fulfill our mission on earth and win our ascension.Thus, a woman may express her feminine energy by nurturing life, beautifying her surroundings and relating to others with appreciation and loving kindness. She may claim her masculine side as inner strength, mental acuity and spiritual empowerment.

A man may express his masculine energy through leadership, decisiveness, mental and physical accomplishment. And he draws on his inner feminine when he accesses his intuition and feelings and offers a listening ear and gentle support to those in need.People in a gay lifestyle say, “Well, this is just who I am, and I can’t change that.” It is true that each of us has a sense of identity and it has something to do with our physical body in this life but not entirely. Who we really are is vastly beyond our human sexuality or who we may identify ourselves to be from life experiences.I have found that there are many psychological reasons for homosexuality and lesbianism.

Ancient momentums, early life experiences and choice of lifestyle have a lot to do withwho we decide we are. Sometimes we have difficulty identifying with our samesex or relating to the opposite sex out of issues of abandonment, rejection,abuse or trauma in this life or past lives. Men often seek a relationship withanother man to discover their manhood or to be lovingly fathered. Women may turn to one another in search of loving mothering or a gentle relationship.

The bottom line is that when we over emphasize our physical gender, we end up excluding the other half of ourselves and have less of a sense of spirituality. Thus the masters teach holy matrimony between man and woman or spiritual celibacy. Ultimately,it is by raising the Mother kundalini for union with the Father energies from our I AM Presence that we claim our Christhood and ascend Home to God. [i]
